Two significant (but not show-stopping) limitations…
The bottom edges of the shelves can slip off the narrow ridge that supports them and they drop into the level below, especially when jostled by inserting or removing bottles. I resolved this by securing the shelves in place with nylon zip-ties.
Secondly, the maximum capacity of the shelves is reduced by storing Burgundy-style bottles instead of the narrower Bordeaux style bottles.
This said, using the zip-ties still provides adequate improvement to the storage capacity
