The New American Home 2023 (Las Vegas, Nv)
Just about every person who toured this remarkable residence during Design Construction Week had the same reaction: "wow, this view is insane." Or something close to it.
Perched above Las Vegas, developer Luxus Design Build aimed to both honor the natural view lines — and compete with them with innovation inside the walls. Through creative design and partnerships with the top product companies in the world, they were able to do just that.
Walking into the home, the grand room sets the town with scale that only comes by going bold with 22-foot ceilings. The impressiveness builds in each room either because of the views offered or the intricate details at every turn (how many built in espresso machines can you find?).
Simply, the New American Home 2023 lived up to the billing as the premier showhome in the country. And for the fourth consecutive year, VintageView served as the wine racking partner elevating the space with a modern bottle enclosure.

Design Challenge
Simply being The New American Home project was the challenge (and opportunity, frankly).
Why? A home’s planning typically begins with the architecture and interior design teams creating the space and vision, then picking products and finishes to complete it. TNAH is quite the opposite, as innovative products serve as the foundation.
“The exciting challenge on The New American Home is collaborating with the vendors on these new products that we wanna showcase in a beautiful way,” says Donna Batilova, interior designer for Luxus Design Build.
In the case of the wine storage, it created potential conflict in trying to feature ground-breaking products in the form of VintagevView’s Helix Wine Rack and a Signature Integrated Refrigerated Wine Column, meaning Luxus had to create two unique spaces — for the unique use case of each product.

The Solution
To find the best way to feature both a wine racking product and a refrigerator, it was important to understand the use case of each (as well as earmark the proper space):
- A wine refrigerator provides storage for wines at serving temp (different for whites, reds, and sparkling). Perfect for serving during a party or Tuesday night steak off the grill dinner.
- Wine racking, when installed into a chilled wine room, is designed to keep all wines at a constant temperature for longer term storage.
The serious wine drinker often wants both.
“The idea behind having both … it gives way more flexibility and usability,” Batilova says.
The layout of the grand room allowed for clever design that honored each type of wine storage. The wine fridges were installed in the kitchen and service area, allowing for easy access during parties small and large.
Two identical glass wine enclosures flanked a main fire pit feature, giving a visual focal point in the hall between a recreation room and home office. The glass covered two sides of each cube, with elements visible to the main space.
“Right as you walk in, you get reveals of that wine rooms … and that brings intrigued us of what’s around the corner,” Batilova says.
Wine Room Features:
- The all new Helix Wine Rack Post System
- Racking in both dual and single configurations

- Frameless glass walls
Design Approach
From the amazing scale of the primary living area to , the design team had a simple goal. Let nature drive all the decisions. When the lot is perched on a mountain side overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, that seems like a great starting point.
“The inspiration of it is derived from all of its surrounding environment,” Batilova said. “We have beautiful nature, these great views. So the main purpose .. is just getting everything pointing straight out to this view and getting it to be one with its surroundings.”
There is hardly a place in the home where the view is not visible (even from the wine cubes!).
