Redefining Modular Home Design with a Statement Wine Wall
Those who don't expect style upgrades in the modular home niche may have been pleasantly surprised at the 2025 International Builders' Show in Las Vegas.
At Show Village (the outdoor exbo area), Genesis Homes (a division of Champion Homes) impressed with its Altitude Highland model — a home that redefines what modular living can be. From an elevated kitchen appliance suite (Bosch Home Appliances) to a stunning Davinci Custom Fireplace, elegance was on display at every compact turn.
Of course, a wine feature played a staring role in the elevated design. The show-stopping display centered around the patented Helix Wine Rack. In this case study, we're diving deep into how this innovative design came together and why it's turning heads.

Design Challenge
Genesis aimed to elevate the Altitude Highland beyond typical modular home aesthetics. Tammie Davidson, director of interior design Champion/Genesis, sought a design element that would add visual intrigue, showcase the home’s potential for customization, and appeal to discerning homeowners with a passion for wine. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate a visually striking wine display within a relatively compact floor plan.

The Solution
The Helix Wine Rack provided the perfect solution for a remarkable feature wall. The unique spiral design of the Helix racks creates a dynamic focal point, drawing the eye and showcasing the wine collection in an artistic manner. The modularity of the system allowed for customization, with single and dual configurations combined to maximize capacity and visual impact within the designated space.
The total space needed for this architectural focal point was just 60″ (152.5cm) x 8″ (20.5cm) x 108″ (274.5cm).
NOTE: If this had been a real-life application, we’d recommend ensuring the exterior window near the display was rated to block out harmful UV rays (a tactic commonly used in wine cellar/display planning). Learn more about building wine displays with our Modern Wine Cellar Design Guide.
Design Approach
The Helix wall was strategically positioned behind the main dining area, creating a captivating backdrop for entertaining and everyday living. The racks’ black metal finish complemented the home’s modern aesthetic, while the spiral design added a touch of architectural flair. The integration of both single and dual Helix configurations maximized bottle capacity while maintaining visual balance and openness.
