A Bespoke Vision Realized: Red Leaf Wine Cellars One-of-a-Kind Bottle Display
CASE STUDY: See how VintageView's Forged custom metal wine rack fabrication delivered a unique designer solution
For a stunning custom home in Cherry Hills Village, the mandate was clear: create a wine cellar that defied convention. The client sought out one of the top wine cellar builders in the Denver metro area, Red Leaf Wine Cellars, with a vision that went far beyond a standard high-end cellar.
The project was less about selecting the right features and more about inventing them.
By The Numbers
- 450 Wine Bottle Capacity
- 3 Custom Fabricated "Forged" Wine Racks
- 26 Hours of Industrial Design to Create
- 1200 Pounds (weight of center console)
Design Challenge
Red Leaf’s initial designs showcased the firm’s considerable talent. “We delivered a couple of designs to the client, and he loved them,” Worker says. But a crucial piece was missing. “It was something that he’d seen before, and he really wanted something that was unique.”
The project had reached a point where standard solutions fell short. To move forward, Red Leaf Wine Cellars needed more than a supplier. They needed an innovation partner.

The Solution
Knowing the scale of the request, Worker turned to a team known for pushing the boundaries of cellar design: VintageView. The decision was based on a long-standing and trusted relationship, leading them to Forged, VintageView’s dedicated custom fabrication lab.
The Forged process is built for exactly this kind of ambitious project. It’s an immersive, hands-on journey from the first sketch to the final installation.
“The Forged process allowed us to have input into the design from the very bottom, all the way to the end,” Worker notes. “It brought to life a project that really met the vision of our client.”
This deep collaboration is key to innovation at VintageView. “We invest in Forged because it’s part of our innovation lab,” says Charles Malek, the company’s CEO. “It helps us be on the cutting edge.” This commitment ensures that a project as specific as this one receives the creative resources required to succeed.
Design Approach
The resulting design is a testament to this partnership. Moving beyond existing configurations, the team co-created a solution from the ground up. Every angle was considered, every material tested. For design and building professionals, this process reveals the value of a fabrication partner who operates as a fellow creator.
“The Red Leaf project benefited from advanced design capabilities, experimental materials, and a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries,” Malek says. The finished cellar is a clean, sculptural statement, where light, glass, high-tech cooling, and steel work in harmony to showcase and protect the collection within.
Lesson Learned
A project of this complexity does more than impress; it demonstrates that the skill, precision, and artistry required for a demanding, one-of-a-kind installation are the same attributes that define our entire product line.
“If we can build this, you can trust us with that,” Malek says. “The same designers who create our most ambitious custom pieces are the ones who create our everyday products.”
The expertise is not confined to the custom shop; it’s a part of every rack and system VintageView produces. For Brian Worker, the experience clarified the full scope of the partnership. “After this process, I know that I can get great standard products from VintageView, but I can also get incredibly custom-built products as well.”
This project stands as a benchmark for luxury wine cellar design in the Denver area. It showcases the incredible results when a homeowner’s vision is paired with a premier builder.
