When the owners of this classic center-hall colonial style home located near the Jersey Shore decided to remodel, they wanted to showcase their impressive 900 bottle wine collection in a unique and ultra-modern display that would resemble something that you might see inside a restaurant or downtown loft.
Curt Dahl, with Joseph & Curtis Wine Cellars, was brought in to bring their vision to reality. Based on the client's request for a contemporary look, Curt recommended the use of label-forward steel wine racks designed by VintageView for their sleek look, flexibility, and competitive storage density.
After building two custom seamless glass cabinets on each side of the dining room, Curt mounted VintageView's patented triple deep Wall Series wine racks to Floor-to-Ceiling Frames that were placed four inches away from the glass; allowing the wine collection and not the racks, to become the main focal point of the room. Each cabinet was also provided with a quiet, high efficiency cooling system placed behind a built-out back wall and storage below the VintageView racks for magnum size bottles. Custom door handles imported from Europe were added as a final touch to complete the cellars contemporary design.
The homeowners, who are now even more inclined to entertain, are ecstatic with results of their new wine cellar and have received numerous compliments from their guests. They especially enjoy how organized their cellar is and how easy it is to peruse now that the labels are in plain view.
Cheers!
